  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon for coating
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a saucepan, heat water, butter, and sugar over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until a smooth dough forms.
  • Shape the Churro Bites: Let the dough cool slightly, then mix in the egg and vanilla. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  • Fry the Bites: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Pipe small pieces of dough into the oil and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the warm churro bites in the mixture until evenly coated.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Serve warm with chocolate sauce or your favorite dip.

Notes

For extra crispiness, fry the churro bites in batches without overcrowding. Try dipping them in chocolate ganache, caramel, or dulce de leche for added indulgence.
