Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter and cocoa powder for greasing ramekins
  • Optional: Ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  • Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  • Mix Ingredients: Stir in powdered sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Gently fold in flour and salt until just incorporated.
  • Fill Ramekins: Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake: Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set but the center remains soft.
  • Serve: Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates. Serve immediately with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Do not overbake, or the center will not be molten. You can substitute dark chocolate for a richer taste. Serve immediately for the best gooey texture.
